Delhi Daredevils Beat Rajasthan Royals by 6 Wickets
Today here at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur Virender Sehwag’s Delhi Daredevils beat Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets. Once again whole credit goes to skipper Virender Sehwag, as his blasting performance helped them to chase the target of 141 just within 15.2 overs.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first Rajasthan Royals got a solid start as their two openers – Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane showed their class again and contributed 71 runs for their first wicket partnership. Rahane was out at 42 of his individual score, though skipper Rahul Dravid showed his massive form today and made few short partnerships with Shane Watson, Owais Shah, Brad Hodge and Ashok Menaria. Rahul Dravid was bowled by Morne Morkel after making 57 of 43 balls with 7 fours. Pawan Negi was added 4 wickets in his individual account today, while Umesh Yadav and Morne Morkel added 1 wicket each.
Came to chase the target of 141 Delhi Daredevils lost the wicket of Mahela Jayawardena while team score was only 0. But awesome 2 nd wicket partnership of Virender Sehwag and Kevin Pietersen quite comfortably reached their score to 96. Pietersen was caught by Owais Shah after making 36 of 34 balls. Though later Ross Taylor, Yogesh Nagar and Naman Ojha contributed few runs in their account, but Virender Sehwag was is good touch since the beginning. Before caught by Rahul Dravid he was scored 73 of 38 balls with 12 fours and 1 sixes. Which neat result DD covered 144 within 15.2 overs by losing 4 wickets. Brad Hogg was picked up 2 wickets and two bowlers, Ankeet Chavan and Shane Watson, were picked up 1 wicket each.
